Seabee Builder help?

I'm considering enlisting in the Navy Reserve as a Seabee Builder. The descriptions I've read about this rating's duties online have been very broad in scope and I was just wondering if Builders specialize in certain areas, such as carpentry or masonry, or if they're kind of a jack of all trades when it comes to constructions. Also, how has your experience as a Builder in the Navy been? Would you say your training is applicable in the civilian world (i.e. home improvement)? Any other insight into this rating would be appreciated! Thanks!
