How can I get started in learning German?

German is very easy to pronounce , it sounds just like it is written, so I would buy a teach yourself German book,Its the vocabulary and verb structure thats hard, you need to read it to learn that part.Tourist phrasebooks can be a good quick fix but you'll need a school type textbook, vocab and verb dictionary as well.
